EXPERIENCE
Marty was a Fortune Top 5 Company executive with cross-functional senior leadership experience as head of global departments and regional field offices for General Motors and its Chevrolet and Saturn divisions.

  • Among many GM roles he was the Director of Global Retail Programs with primary objectives of “going common” and “making it easier for dealers to do business with GM”. Functional responsibilities included sales and service support systems and processes.
  • Saturn was “clean sheet” approach to create “A Different Kind of Company and A Different Kind of Car” that sold its first vehicle in October of 1990.

He was sought after and selected to be a key member of Saturn’s Sales, Service and Marketing Team four years prior to the first vehicle sale and was part of the team to develop a revolutionary auto retail experience based on a unique set of core values and business culture. That work has been cited by many studies and universities and auto companies around the world have tried to pattern their strategies after Saturn. Marty provided key expertise and gained “Intrapreneurial” experience leading or assisting in developing Sales Operations, Franchise Administration, Market Survey and Customer Focused Systems and Processes that helped achieve the mission and purpose of the Company.

As one of the original Saturn Field Executives, he had the responsibility to work with Retailers for all marketplace launch related activities including site selection, facility approvals, recruiting and team building. Marty became a Regional Vice President for Saturn and among many other roles he was the Director of Saturn’s award-winning Customer Assistance Center and the Retail Strategies, Systems and Training Team which had a major influence on Saturn being ranked #1 in the JD Power CSI Ratings for many years running.

Functional responsibilities have included Marketing and Sales, Distribution Channel Management, Customer Service, Strategic Planning and Business Process Improvement. He was proven successful at building teams and partner relationships to increase operating efficiency and improve customer service delivery while managing staffs as large as 300 people and annual budgets over $50 million.

Marty started his own consulting company in 2012 and has enjoyed his passion of “coming alongside to facilitate solutions that help others succeed.” TriPoint Management Solutions was founded based on a passion and desire to share lessons learned from real life experiences to help executives and senior managers become Servant Leaders, thereby improving the performance of their organizations. Coaching and consulting focus on Success AND Significance by facilitating relevant solutions for a company in the areas of strategic planning, organizational effectiveness and culture and leadership development. Working with “Start Up” companies to assist in their growth and transition stages are an area of expertise.

He recently completed a 3-year contract with an International Company based in Munich, Germany which included facilitating workshops and coaching executives/mangers not just in Germany but also in China, Dubai, Germany, Greece, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Portugal and Russia.

Beyond the “business world” Marty has always enjoyed a variety of sports but has a real love for baseball as a player, coach or spectator. He has also been regularly active in his church and among many roles over the years has served as Chairman of the Deacons, Leader – Strategic Planning Team and developed and facilitated many Leadership Planning Retreats.
